Our goal is to expand physicians' knowledge and skills, thereby improving patient care and enhancing the general health of the people in the region and beyond. Target audiences are regional primary care and specialty physicians including members of the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health System, and national/international audiences as appropriate.
The intended audience for the completion of these modules include the
diverse sector of child health professionals including pediatricians,
nurse practitioners, family practitioners, registered nurses and social
workers.

Learning Objectives:
Articulate a Bright-Futures definition of health and how it
provides a framework for effective smoking prevention and cessation
practice
Explain the status of adolescent female health,
the prevalence of smoking among this population and the impact of
nicotine on their health
Describe how adolescent female health depends on the health of their families and communities
Discuss
the importance of acknowledging the strengths of the child, family, and
community as partners in health and smoking prevention and cessation
Identify the child's, family's, and health professional's concerns or agendas during a health visit
