Detailed Description:
There are many barriers to optimal management of patients with allergic rhinitis and asthma. T.E.A.M. Asthma & Allergy Module 3—Improving Outcomes for Patients with Allergic Asthma will address the significant comorbidities associated with allergic rhinitis and asthma and their effect on quality of life. Issues related to patient compliance will be identified and team-based efforts to improve patient communication and compliance will be addressed.
Learning Objectives:
- List the Expert Panel Report 3 (EPR-3) Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Management of Asthma and the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology (ACAAI)/American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology (AAAAI) Joint Task Force on Practice Parameters’ The Diagnosis and Management of Rhinitis: An Updated Practice Parameter recommendations for pharmacologic management of allergic asthma
- Describe patient education to improve adherence to therapy
- Explain when to refer to an allergist
