Detailed Description:
Designed Exclusively for Physicians - Limited Seating.
Patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) require short- and long-term management that often presents challenges to the care team. This continuing medical education activity focuses on improving ACS management by applying educational design strategies that strengthen those skill-sets needed to provide not only better patient care, but also are a means to improve patient outcomes. This educational activity will appeal to all members of the ACS treatment team, including emergency department physicians, interventional cardiologists, clinical and community cardiologists, and hospitalists.
This continuing medical education activity focuses on improving the short- and long-term management of patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS). The educational design will strengthen needed practice skill-sets through use of didactic presentations and interactive, case-based, team-building within and across specialties, and will appeal to all members of the ACS treatment team, including emergency department physicians, interventional cardiologists, clinical and community cardiologists, and hospitalists. All participants in Prova Education activities can expect learning that includes strategies for applying what you learn into your medical practice; ancillary tools that supplement the educational process; and opportunities for interaction with faculty and colleagues. Our goal is to provide you with relevant education that meets identified needs, so that outcomes are measurable and sustained, and result in improved patient care.
Areas of focus for patients with ACS include improving:
- The quality of evidenced-based care provided
- Patient risk stratification and physician referral skills
- Decision-making associated with bleeding risk following percutaneous coronary intervention
- Physician knowledge and confidence when selecting secondary preventive dual antiplatelet treatment
- Inter-physician communication during patient transitions, thus ensuring optimal patient care over the short- and long-term
This course is designed to meet the Continuing Medical Education needs of clinical cardiologists, interventional cardiologists, hospitalists and emergency department physicians.
