Detailed Description:

Scripps Cancer Center’s Oncology Nurses Symposium is designed for nurses dedicated to the field of hematology-oncology. During this three and a half day conference, attendees will benefit from an intimate learning environment in which renowned faculty will present the latest in oncology care and provide practical strategies and tools to improve nursing practice and patient outcomes. The program itself is designed to provide a generous amount of CE credits while offering participants the chance to interact and network with like-minded colleagues.

The 2011 Symposium will explore the latest information on various types of cancers including: Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML), melanoma, colon cancer, and thoracic tumors. Treatment advances, infection prevention, ethical commitments, and palliative care will also be discussed. In addition to offering strong clinical content from leading experts, the Oncology Nurses Symposium will evaluate the effect of a cancer diagnosis on all aspects of a patient’s life and the important role oncology nurses play throughout the continuum of care.
