After participating in this activity, the attendee should be able to:
• Apply new technical approaches to specific lesion subsets such as bifurcation
lesions, left main lesions, chronic total occlusions and saphenous vein graft disease;
• Integrate the latest guidelines and practice improvements into the management of
myocardial function after heart attack;
• Discuss new techniques under development for percutaneous cardiac valve repair
and replacement;
• Reduce common catheterization laboratory patient complications using new
techniques and technologies;
• Critique the latest evidence and guidelines supporting new cardiac imaging
modalities, such as IVUS guided stent deployment;
• Prescribe the appropriate antithrombotic therapies based on the latest data
and guidelines;
• Analyze how and when to use the new technique of bedside monitoring of
anti-platelet therapies; and
• Communicate to patients the risks and benefits of screening, early detection, and
prevention in the management of coronary artery disease.
Intended Audience:
Interventional cardiologists, cardiologists, vascular surgeons, and internists with an interest in interventional cardiology. No experience in interventional cardiology is required, but a basic understanding of the field is recommended.
