Detailed Description:
This series of three webconferences is designed to discuss guideline updates regarding risk stratification in acute coronary syndrome (ACS) as well as recent evidence for the efficacy and safety of new and emerging antiplatelet therapies used in ACS.The target audience is interventionalists, cardiologists, and other healthcare professionals who manage and treat patients with ACS.

Learning Objectives:

  • Delineate ACS treatment guidelines and recent updates as they relate to risk stratification
  • Apply risk stratification when developing a treatment plan for a patient with ACS and describe how risk stratification affects the choice of therapy

  • Discuss the incidence and possible causes of lack of efficacy in antiplatelet therapy
  •  Identify strategies for overcoming resistance to antiplatelet therapies, including dosage adjustments and selection of alternative agents in appropriate patients

  •  Describe current information about new and emerging anitplatelet therapies
  • Analyze how these modalities fit into currently recommended treatment strategies
