The purpose of this activity is to give participants a diagnostic and therapeutic update in the fields of gastroenterology and hepatology.
Preliminary Objectives for Activity:
- Describe the clinical manifestations, diagnostic evaluation,and therapeutic options for microscopic/collagenous colitis
- Review new insights in eosinophilic esophagitis
- Utilize new diagnostic tests/therapies for IBD (2 hrs)
- Identify the changing paradigm of irritable bowel syndrome
- Describe the emerging role of probiotics in GI disorders
- Identify the “silent” celiac disease epidemic
- Review the epidemiology, diagnostic evaluation, and therapeutic options for hepatitis C
