Practical Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine MRI: Interpretive Approaches with Clinical Correlation

ProScan Imaging Education Foundation

January 23-25, 2009

Breast Module: 21.5 CME
Participants in this portion of the course will learn how to use and interpret breast MRI.  While mammography remains the gold standard for widespread breast cancer screening, breast MRI has emerged as an essential tool in screening certain high-risk populations, and in pre-operative planning for women with breast cancer.  Since the introduction of MRI as a modality for the detection of breast cancer, radiology and oncology experts have been working to determine the appropriate time to use MRI, and how it fits into the picture with mammography.

Orthopaedic Module: 19.25 CME
MRI continues to advance diagnostics in the musculoskeletal axis with improvements in magnets, coils, and more importantly increased understanding of the available equipment and applications. Our orthopaedic MRI workshop reviews bone and soft tissue lesions, upper and lower extremities, sports injuries and pathologic disorders for the imaging clinician.  Discussion of technique, pulsing sequences, indications and applications ensures that this course provides information useful for day-to-day practice, as well as current examples of more unusual findings.

ProScan Imaging is again offering its 31/2 day course in musculoskeletal MRI in Cincinnati. This refresher course will provide the attendee with practical approaches to evaluation of the knee, shoulder, ankle and foot, wrist, elbow, and hip. Although the content of this highly successful continuing educational offering is unchanged, the format has been enhanced to allow more informal discussion with faculty, greater audience participation, and expanded instruction in orthopedic MRI consultation and reporting.
